Σημασιολογικό Σύστημα Συνεργασίας

Abstract

Η εμφάνιση και η εξέλιξη του παγκόσμιου ιστού έχει ανοίξει τα παγκόσμια σύνορα διάχυσης των ψηφιακών πληροφοριών. Ο όγκος της γνώσης που το άτομο έχει στην διάθεση του αυξάνει, συνεπώς εξελίσσονται και οι μέθοδοι αποθήκευσης της γνώσης αυτής. Τα semantic desktops αποτελούν χώρους τους οποίους οι χρήστες χρησιμοποιούν για να αποθηκεύσουν τις πληροφορίες τους δομημένες σε σημασιολογική δομή. Παράλληλα, υπάρχει και η τάση διαμοιρασμού των πληροφοριών σε όλο το web, σκοπός που επιτελείται μέσω της χρήσης των διαφόρων semantic wikis. Τι γίνεται όμως όταν κάποιος χρήστης του web θέλει να κάνει share τη γνώση που διαθέτει στο semantic desktop του, όχι σε όλο το web, αλλά σε μια ομάδα χρηστών;Σκοπός αυτής της διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η δημιουργία ενός συνεργατικού λογισμικού το οποίο θα επιτρέπει στους χρήστες του την διαχείριση της γνώσης που έχουν στη διάθεση τους. Αυτό θα επιτυγχάνεται μέσω της δημιουργίας χώρων εργασίας (workspaces) στους οποίους θα έχουν πρόσβαση συγκεκριμένα μέλη και μέσα στους οποίους η γνώση πλέον θα είναι αρθρωμένη με σημασιολογική δομή και θα μπορεί να γίνει integrated με το desktop του χρήστη. Στόχος, λοιπόν είναι η κατασκευή ενός Semantic Collaborative Workspace. Η εργασία αυτή βασίζεται στις τεχνολογίες του Σημασιολογικού Ιστού (Semantic Web), του Semantic Desktop και των Semantic Wikis. Ως βάση χρησιμοποιείται ένα semantic wiki, semantic για να μπορεί να γίνει integrated με το εξίσου semantic desktop και wiki για να μπορέσουμε να επιτύχουμε την collaborative φύση που επιθυμούμε να έχει η εφαρμογή μας.The appearance and evolution of the World Wide Web has opened up global borders fordigital information flows. The amount of knowledge an individual has at his disposal iscontinuously augmenting, along with the development of new methods for therepresentation of this knowledge. A Semantic Desktop is a place in which an individualstores all her digital information like documents, multimedia and messages, interpreted asSemantic Web resources. Semantic wikis provide a solution to the problem of informationsharing. Questions raised when an individual wants to share this knowledge only with arestricted group of users.The aim of this diploma thesis is to develop a collaborative tool, Sponge Workspaces, thatwill support both the personal information management and the sharing and exchangeacross social and organizational relations. The problem of information sharing is solved bymeans of workspaces. The idea behind Sponge Workspaces is to provide a placeholder forstoring, organizing and sharing resources needed for the accomplishment of personal andcollaborative tasks and to organize work-related tasks. Sponge Workspaces provides animproved interactive user interface in order to support collaboration in workspaces, asophisticated permissioning system allowing restricted access to the workspaces and alongwith Sponge Gadgets, desktop integration facilities. Sponge Workspaces can also be used toannotate resources with semantic terms. This work utilizes the technologies of SemanticWeb, Semantic Desktop and Semantic Wiki. Sponge Workspace’s basis is a semantic wiki.The semantic structure of the basis meets the need for integration with an also semanticdesktop, while the wiki functionalities suit the collaborative nature of the tool.
