Abstract: The LiDAR method is a type of active, optic remote sensing, with a majority of application fields, such as geography, robotics and navigation of autonomous vehicles. Of the various LiDAR systems developed, aiming at different targets and therefore having different fields of application, the Coherent Doppler LiDAR is of great interest. Its operation is based on the Doppler Effect and aims at the detection of wind velocity. This diploma thesis concerns the design of a digital system to process Wind LiDAR data, in order to determine wind velocity. It also includes an exploration of the variables affecting the procedure, in order to optimize it. In the boundaries of a systemic approach, except for the digital processing, the embedded system is also set to control the LiDAR's rotation, as well as to determine the direction at which the measurements are taken.
