ΑΝΑΠΤΥΞΗ ΔΙΑΔΙΚΤΥΑΚΟΥ ΕΡΓΑΛΕΙΟΥ ΑΝΑΓΝΩΡΙΣΗΣ ΕΝΕΡΓΕΙΑΚΑ ΦΤΩΧΩΝ ΝΟΙΚΟΚΥΡΙΩΝ

Abstract

The research topic of this diploma thesis is the development of a computational web tool that receives, examines and analyzes energy data provided by energy providers, and using energy poverty indicators classifies their customers into three categories, energy poor, non-energy poor, at risk of energy poverty. First, the prevailing situation of energy poverty within the EU is described. Its effects on society, the economy and the environment are briefly presented, emphasizing the importance of tackling the problem. Subsequently, the basic principles of the tool are described, giving the most basis to the energy poverty indicators, which play a key role in the analysis of energy data. Then, the final form of the tool developed is presented and the operation manual and its technical specifications are recorded. Finally, a case study of its actual use in Greece is examined, followed by the section of conclusions for the specific analysis.
